Privacy policy

1. Your billing data stays on your PC

TezBill is offline restaurant billing software. Your menu, bills, KOTs, customers, staff and reports are stored in a database (SQLite) on your own Windows PC, with an automatic daily backup on the same PC. We do not receive, host or have access to this data. You are in control of it — including copying backups to a USB drive or another PC.

2. What the app sends to us

Only when the PC is connected to the internet, TezBill sends the following to our servers:

• Crash and error reports: technical details of the error, the app version and your PC ID.
• Daily usage counts: number of bills and KOTs, average bill value, and which features are switched on.
• Support details: your restaurant name and phone number, so we can help you when you contact us.
• Licence checks: your licence key and PC ID, to confirm the licence is valid.

TezBill never sends your customers’ names or phone numbers, bill items, or staff PINs. You can switch off crash reports and usage counts at any time in Settings; licence checks are needed for the licence to work.

3. Why we use it

• To activate and verify your licence and renewals.
• To find and fix bugs, and to improve TezBill.
• To give you support when you ask for it.

We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

4. Payments and messages

Licence and hardware payments are made by UPI directly to Quieto Solutions LLP; we keep a record of the payment (amount, date, UPI reference and the name and phone number you share) for accounting and GST purposes. Licence keys and order updates are sent on WhatsApp to the number you give us.

5. Remote support

We only see your screen when you choose to join a support meeting or allow a session through Microsoft Quick Assist. You can end it at any time.

6. This website

This website is a static site. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies and has no sign-up forms. Like any web server, our hosting provider may log basic technical information (such as IP address and browser) to keep the site secure.

7. Where data is stored

The data in section 2 is stored on servers run by Cloudflare, which we use to host this website, the download and the licence service. Cloudflare may process it in data centres in and outside India, under its own security and privacy commitments.

8. How long we keep it

• Licence and payment records: as long as your licence is active, and after that as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
• Crash reports and usage counts: only as long as they are useful to fix problems and improve TezBill, after which they are deleted.
• Support details: until you ask us to delete them or stop using TezBill.

9. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• Correct or update data that is wrong or incomplete;
• Erase your data, unless we must keep it by law (for example, invoices);
• Withdraw consent — for example by switching off reports in Settings;
• Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you; and
• Raise a grievance with us, and if not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

Because your billing data is stored only on your PC, you can view, correct, export or delete it yourself in TezBill at any time.

10. Children

TezBill is business software for restaurant owners and staff and is not meant for children.

11. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Important changes will also be shown in the app or sent on WhatsApp.
